James Burton (Guitar Legend)

An American Guitar Legend and judged by many as one of the most talented guitarists of all time: James Burton. A member of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2001 he has played with many of "The Greats" but most famously with Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley. He has great memories of them both as you'll hear.

Sir George Martin

Not a lot of people are lucky enough to live to the age of 90. Even fewer get to leave behind a catalogue of work that will stand the test of time. Sir George Martin accomplished both. He was the record producer behind The Beatles and a gentleman in every sense of the word. His hit stories are compulsive listening.

Gene Pitney

Another of the acts now starring in Rock and Roll Heaven is Gene Pitney. In 2006 he died doing what he loved - touring. Just hours after a UK concert he suffered a heart attack in his hotel room which brought to an end a 45 year music career. There were many hits over the years and Gene shares some great hit stories here.

Harry Vanda of The Easybeats

Producers, songwriters and band mates in both The Easybeats and Flash and The Pan, this interview was recorded just after the were given the award for "Best Australian Song" EVER!

Eric Burdon

The superlatives you could use in describing Eric Burdon are many, the man truly is a legend. Over the years he's amassed many amazing tales concerning his life and music, just some of those hit stories are shared here.

James Darren

Actor, director and singer - you can't say that James Darren is untalented! You might know him as Moondoggie in the "Gidget" movie, others will recall his role as Dr Tony Newman in the TV series "Time Tunnel", or maybe you can still sing along to his 60's hit "Goodbye Cruel World"? There's even something for Star Trek fans in this interview.

Shel Talmy (Record Producer)

Not every record producer plays such an important role in the process as Shel Talmy. Shel was behind the mixing desk for some of the most important hits to come out of Britain in the 60's. The Kinks, The Who and The Easybeats all owe him a great deal. Plus there was another Australian band which had a hit produced by Shel Talmy.

Percy Sledge

There has been a lot of one-hit-wonders in the history of the Top 40. Few of those one-offs have had the impact of Percy Sledge's great claim to fame. You might be surprised however that he gave most of the royalties to a couple of friends in a great act of generosity ..... but at the time he didn't know how generous he was being.

Rod Argent of The Zombies

English singer/songwriter/record producer Rod Argent is one of the great survivors. Starting out as keyboardist with The Zombies in the 60's, Rod then formed the band Argent in the 70's before beginning a solo career. The musical importance of The Zombies was recognised in 2014 when a plaque was unveiled at the site of their first rehearsal.
